What is minimum amount of outdoor space needed for a fireworks display?
In order to determine the distance required between an audience and a fireworks display discharge site we begin with the prescribed regulations and consult the local fire authorities for any detailed requirements.
The codes are specific; for every 1 inch caliber aerial fireworks shell we must have a safe radius of 70 feet.
So for a show that might incorporate up to 3 inch diameter shells, the law requires a display site with 210 foot safe radius.
Spectators and spectator parking areas cannot be located in the display site.
This doesn’t mean your site can’t be used for a fireworks display.
There are many different firework and pyrotechnic devices that are specifically made to be used within close proximity to an audience.
We’ll start with a site plan and work with you to come up with the best possible solution to your venue.
